UPDATE: LUMBERTON - Lumberton Police have identified a woman killed in an auto-pedestrian accident.
Investigators tell KFDM News the 27-year-old woman lived in the Woodville area. They're working to notify her family before they release her name.
According to information Chief Danny Sullins provided to KFDM News, the woman was wearing dark clothing and she was walking in the southbound lane of Highway 69 near FM 421 at about 11 p.m. Thursday when the driver of a pickup truck heading south struck her. She was dead at the scene.
Police say the 18-year-old driver from Kountze isn't at fault.
She was wearing a dark jacket, jeans and high heeled shoes.
The woman had no identification.
