You can find them at an electronics store, or perhaps at a home in a north Beaumont neighborhood.
A Beaumont man has been released from jail on bond today after police searched his home and recovered more than $25 thousand in stolen electronics.
Police credit an alert neighbor with calling 911 after he noticed a strange truck on his street.
Officers arrested 24-year-old Marcus Keith Johnson after he and three other men led police on a chase through the north end of Beaumont at about noon Thursday.
Officers also arrested 19-year-old Kindall E. Dodd and 21-year-old Robert Lee Frank.
Both are charged with theft and running away from police. Frank also faces a drug charge. It all started here in the 7000 block of Scotts Drive.
A neighbor called police after he noticed someone driving a gray Dodge truck up and down the street.
When officers caught up with the driver of the truck and tried to pull him over he refused to stop.
The chase continued through north Beaumont and ended here in the 3200 block of Roland Road.
This is where police arrested three of the four men. The driver of the truck is still on the run. Police found several stolen items and crack cocaine inside the truck.
Investigators later served an arrest warrant at Marcus Johnson's home in the 4400 block of Concord.
That's where they found all of this.
Tens of thousands of dollars in computers, TVs, audio equipment. Items from homes and businesses in southeast Texas, their value more than just dollars and cents.
Again, all three men face theft charges for the items found in the truck. If convicted of theft, they could get up to 20 years in prison.
Once investigators learn more about the electronics in Johnson's home, the men could face even more time behind bars.
And police offer these reminders to help prevent theft.
Call them any time something seems out of the ordinary.
Officers say that's why they're there.
Track serial numbers and take pictures of your valuables.
Also, make a distinctive mark on the back of your TV, stereo, computer. Use paint or a marker to help police identify your items if they're stolen. Johnson's father called KFDM to tell us he and his wife have receipts for all of the electronics police found in their home off Concord.
We did just speak with Beaumont police who confirmed at least one of the TVs found at in the home was confirmed stolen in a burglary earlier this week. The father claims BPD offered a search warrant without an address. He also says he and his wife make more than $10 thousand a month and that's how they're able to afford all of the items police found.
Officers are looking for a fourth man in connection with the burglaries. If you have information about the case, call Crime Stoppers at 833-TIPS.BPD: Tens of thousands of dollars in stolen electronics recovered in Beaumont home
