LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE - by LC-M CISD
In a called meeting on Monday, February 25, the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Board of Trustees called for bond and trustee elections for May 11, 2013. The bond is not to exceed $56 million. Three applications, from Blake Istre, Ron Borel, and Jason Woods have been received for Place 7 on the Trustee election. Rex Peveto is unopposed for his current seat in Place 6. Filing deadline for that race is March 1.
The proposed projects by campus follows, and below that is a list of early and May 11 voting locations and times.
(1) Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School: provide a secure front entrance; renovate and equip most existing classroom areas in the main building; demolish the library building in the center of the main building and enclose the center area by constructing and equipping new classrooms and a library; demolish and replace, construct and equip a new cafeteria and kitchen; construct and equip an additional gymnasium; move the High School office areas and front of the campus to the Highway 87 side and construct and equip a new office area for the High School; connect the cosmetology building and field house to the main building;
(2) Little Cypress Junior High School: provide a secure front entrance; construct and equip a new building with classrooms, offices, restrooms, library, and storage and connect the two existing gyms and cafeteria to the new building; renovate and upgrade the cafeteria and kitchen and related equipment; replace gymnasium bleachers; demolish some of the existing buildings and improvements; add parking;
(3) Mauriceville Middle School: provide a secure front entrance; construct and equip a new gymnasium, cafeteria, kitchen, band hall and science lab; renovate areas for offices and nurse and provide new equipment for such areas; connect some of the existing buildings; add parking and driveways;
(4) Mauriceville Elementary School: provide a secure front entrance; demolish classroom wing; construct and equip new classrooms, cafeteria, and kitchen; renovate existing cafeteria into new classrooms and offices and equip same; connect new construction with main building and kindergarten building; expand parking;
(5) Little Cypress Elementary School: provide a secure front entrance; improve traffic flow and extend exterior awning;
(6) Little Cypress Intermediate School: provide a secure front entrance; extend exterior awning and driveway; improve traffic flow;
