A Beaumont woman died when her car left a highway in Lumberton, became airborne and flipped, causing her to be ejected, according to information Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins provided to KFDM News.
Chief Sullins says Suzanne Garner, 46, of Beaumont, died at the scene on Highway 69 near Wheeler Road.
She was driving south on Highway 69 at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday when her Nissan car left the road near Jordan Street, south of Wheeler, went into a ditch on the southbound side, struck a culvert and became airborne, according to Sullins. The car struck a culvert and flipped over end to end. The driver was ejected. She ended up in the ditch, about 30-40 feet from the car. Justice of the Peace Butch Cummings pronounced her dead and ordered an autopsy.
