Tropical Storm Dalila strengthens off Mexico coast

MIAMI (AP) -- Tropical Storm Dalila is strengthening as it moves away from Mexico's Pacific coast and could become a hurricane by Tuesday.

The storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 mph (105 kph). The storm on centered about 165 miles (266 kilometers) southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, and is moving northwest at 7 mph (11 kph).

The government of Mexico has discontinued tropical storm warnings and watches for the coast.

Dalilia is expected to bring winds and rain accumulations of 1 to 3 inches to the country's coastline over Monday and into the night.
