LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) -- A 39-year-old man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping his estranged, pregnant wife in October 2011.
Holly Carter, a spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office, tells the American Press William Paul Morgan entered his plea Monday to charges of second-degree kidnapping and violation of a protective order.
Carter says Morgan was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with seven years suspended. Morgan, who has been imprisoned since the incident, will receive credit for time served.
Police say Morgan's wife was five months pregnant when he kidnapped her from her place of employment on Oct. 14, 2011.
He took her before noon and surrendered at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office at 8 p.m. the same day.
