KFDM News learns human remains found near Dam B confirmed as mother and son
TYLER COUNTY - by Scott Lawrence
KFDM News has learned autopsy results confirm human remains found in Tyler County at the end of March are those of a woman and her son reported missing in September of 2011.
Someone found the remains of 79-year-old Lettie Fisher and her 31-year-old son John near Dam B March 31 near where the Fishers' car was found two years ago.
Sheriff Bryan Weatherford told KFDM News autopsy results he received confirm the remains are those of the Fishers.
John Fisher had a prosthetic leg and it was found near the remains.
The sheriff told us the autopsy couldn't pinpoint the cause of death but he's sure it's from natural causes and not a crime.
He says the Fishers, from Polk County, may have become lost and could have suffered dehydration in the heat.
They enjoyed fishing and some law enforcement officers believe that's what they had done or were planning to do near Dam B.
