Gov. Rick Perry threatens to call a special legislative session if lawmakers don't send him a budget with almost $2 billion in tax cuts

(AP) Gov. Rick Perry threatens to call a special legislative session if lawmakers don't send him a budget with almost $2 billion in tax cuts.

The legislature finishes on May 27th, unless Perry summons lawmakers back into session.

He's asking for $1.8 billion in cuts after the House passed a tax bill proposing only $667 million in breaks for Texas businesses.

Perry said that's only a third of the way there. He also said he wanted $2 billion for water and infrastructure projects.
