Jasper family holds vigil; son missing
JASPER - by Steve Stewart - While most families celebrated Father’s Day on Sunday, a Jasper family was holding vigil as they wait for word on their son who is missing in the Houston area, and investigators say the prospects of finding him alive do not look good.
38-year-old Solomon Garrett is the son of Jeanette Brooks Wysingle, and the step-son of James Wysingle. On Sunday, KJAS News spoke to the Jasper couple, and they said that Solomon was last seen alive on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 12th at his home, located near Highway 90 and Beltway 8, in northeast Houston.
Mrs. Wysingle said Solomon’s car was found that night on the banks of the San Jacinto River, just off of Highway 90 near Crosby. Investigators told Mrs. Wysingle that although her son was not in the vehicle, a very large amount of blood was, and they are now treating the investigation with foul play suspected, involving a possible homicide.
James Wysingle said Solomon, who is a father to four children, is a welder and has also driven 18-wheelers. Wysingle said Solomon, to his knowledge, had no enemies, and wasn’t involved in drugs or any other illicit activity.
