Local school districts meet STAAR standards, some schools need improvement
SOUTHEAST TEXAS - All local school districts with the exception of High Island met TEA accountability standards for the STAAR test, although some individual campuses need improvement in certain areas, according to information released Thursday afternoon by the Texas Education Agency.
According to the TEA, High Island is in the category of Improvement Required.
All Golden Triangle districts met the standard, although some school in the districts are listed in the category of Improvement Required, including Ozen High School, Blanchette and Fehl-Price Elementary, and the Bingman Pre-K in BISD.
According to the TEA, Ozen needs improvement in student progress, and Blanchette and Fehl-Price Elementary need improvement in closing performance gaps.
In the Port Arthur ISD, the Memorial 9th Grade Academy needs improvement in student progress and postsecondary readiness, Travis Elementary needs improvement in student progress, and Washington Elementary needs improvement in closing performance gaps.
In the West Orange Cove-CISD, West Orange Stark Elementary and West Orange Stark Middle School need improvement in closing performance gaps.
