South Newton County Boil Water Notice
South Newton Water Supply
Public Notice to Boil Water
Effective August 13, 2013
Due to a leak repair, a boil water notice has been issued for your area.
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system, South Newton Water Supply Corporation PWS#1760022, to notify customers they will be under a boil water notice. This will only affect water customers on CR 4181 from CR 4212 going North to Highway 87, on Highway 12 from Highway 87 going east to PVT 8094, and on Highway 87 from Hartburg overpass going North to PVT 8097. This includes all County Roads and Private Roads that connect with CR 4181, Highway 12 and Highway 87 as described in the forgoing description.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact 409-746-2271 or 409-988-3186.
