A change in student loans

KFDM News - President Obama is expected to sign a bill Friday to lower the costs of student loan interest rates.

The bipartisan bill passed last month when the House gave it final approval after a drawn-out process to reach a compromise in the Senate.

The bill links student loan interest rates to the economy. It offers lower rates for most students now, but higher ones later if the economy improves as expected.

The president is expected to lay out an plan to reduce costs for college students in the coming months.
