A slow warming trend will begin in our area over the weekend into early next week with dry weather expected. Our next chance for showers and thunderstorms will begin around Wednesday as the next cold front nears.
Beaumont firefighters wear pink for breast cancer awareness
Beaumont firefighters are wearing pink to raise money for breast cancer awareness month.
Throughout the month of October, the firemen at Station No. 1 in downtown Beaumont will wear and sell shirts to the community with the theme they care enough to wear pink.
The shirts are $15 and proceeds go to the Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program. The firefighters say it's a way to support the community.
"We're wearing the shirts because firefighters aren't normally known to be real girly, so we're wearing pink because we're man enough to wear pink, so just to show our support," Beaumont Fire and Rescue's Kasey Carpenter said.
The shirts will be open for the community to buy next week. Questions are directed to the Fire Museum.
