Student accused of making hit list no longer on Jasper campus

Jasper Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Richard Skuza said on Tuesday that a student accused of compiling a hit list of first names, and then posting it at Jasper Junior High School earlier this month, is no longer a student at the campus.

According to an earlier KJAS News story, Dr. Skuza said the list of names was discovered by students on Friday, October 4th on a window seal at the school.

On Monday, October 7th, Lieutenant Mike Poindexter with the Jasper Police Department said that Officer John Hardin, along with Jasper PD Investigators questioned the student accused of making the list, and according to Poindexter he confessed, but he said that it was only made as a joke.

Dr. Skuza later said that his administration takes very seriously any situation involving student safety.
