A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures.  In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area.  A warming trend will begin early next week with a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms by the middle and later part of next week.

New information about hit and run that injured young girl

KFDM News has new information tonight about a hit and run that injured a 5 year old girl.

Kayla Lopez was struck by a vehicle on Woodland Drive in Mauriceville Friday night and today she has been released from Texas Children's Hospital.

Kayla was diagnosed with a skull fracture and  she is walking and talking normally and has several follow-up visits scheduled for later this month.

Police are still looking for the vehicle that struck Kayla. Troopers say the vehicle will have damage to the passenger side near the outside mirror.  

If you have any information about the hit and run accident you are asked to contact authorities.
