LU basketball program looking for new coach

Lamar University's basketball program is again, looking for a new head basketball coach.

The often stormy tenure of Pat Knight ended with his firing Sunday after nearly three years in Beaumont.

Many times in post game press conferences Knight would openly say if some didn't appreciate the way he was doing things, then fire him.
Knight did take the Cardinals to the NCAA tournament on his first year, but since then the program has fallen on very hard times.

A season ago Lamar won three games and through 25 games this year LU is 3 and 22, and attendance is lagging.

KFDM News spoke to a few Lamar students today for their take on firing of Pat Knight.

Knight was 29-62 overall in less than 3 seasons. Former assistant Tic Price will serve as the interim coach.
