Police standoff ends after several hours

BEAUMONT - A man is in police custody after he barricaded himself in a Beaumont home, prompting a stand-off with police that lasted hours.
Shortly before 9:00 PM Monday, officers were called to a home in the 1200 block of Roberts Street.
Police say the man locked himself inside the house and refused to come out.
Members of the man's family told a KFDM news crew that the man had neglected to take his medication.
Family members also said there were no firearms in the home.
Police officers surrounded the house and attempted to make contact with the man.
Shortly after 12:30 AM Tuesday, officers forced their way into the home and took the man into custody without incident.
No one was harmed.
