Funerals set for sisters killed in Lumberton crash

LUMBERTON - Funeral arrangements are set for two sisters killed when a woman traveling at speeds estimated at more than 100 mph crashed into their family's SUV in Lumberton.

Connely Burns, 20, and Courtney Sterling, 15, died in the crash. Connely was pregnant. Her son was due in March. Their mother, Dawn, remains hospitalized with serious injuries. The suspect, Crystal Boyett, 40, of Kirbyville, is in the Hardin County Jail on $1.5 million bond for three counts of manslaughter.


Visitation for Connely and Courtney is Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.


Their funerals are at 2 p.m. at Crestwood Baptist Church, Highway 69 between Lumberton and Kountze.
