Synopsis.......

 

Round 2 of isolated showers and thunderstorms dotting the area for lunchtime. These storms should be shortlived. Highs will again reach the lower 90's in most areas. Less coverage of showers as the week progresses. Look for some of the hottest temps to date as we approach the weekend. Mid and upper 90's could be the norm by the weekend.

Early voting information for rural Southeast Texas

Early voting got underway on Tuesday morning for the upcoming March primary, and will continue until Friday, February 28th. Although there are only two contested races in Jasper County, but there are several in our surrounding counties.

 

Early voting in Jasper is being held at the Jasper Fire Hall on Water Street, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Early voting will also be held in Brookeland, Kirbyville, Buna, and Evadale, on Thursday, February 20th, Friday, February 21st, and Saturday, February 22nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

In Brookeland, early voting will be at the Browndell Community Center; In Kirbyville it will be at Central Baptist Church; In Buna it will be at the Sub-Courthouse; And in Evadale it will be at the Evadale Fire Department.

 

Here in Jasper County in the Democratic primary race for Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace, Debbie Berry and Joe Wilkinson are vying for that seat. Also in Jasper County, in the Republican primary race for Precinct 2 County Commissioner, Gary Dannar is challenging incumbent Roy Parker.

 

The Primary Election Day will be Tuesday, March 4th, and the polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
