Just a few showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the next few days due mainly to daytime heating.  A much better coverage of rain can be expected Thursday into Friday as a cold front moves in from the northwest.  This front will bring us cooler and drier air over the weekend.

Street racing may be to blame for crash that injured three

HOUSTON - by KHOU 11 News and

Street racing may be to blame for a horrific wrong-way crash that happened on the North Freeway early Friday, according to Harris County Sheriffs deputies.

Deputies said a pickup truck driver was racing another vehicle on I-45 when the pickup driver stopped on the northbound side of the freeway turned around and began heading the other direction.

That is when the truck slammed into a SUV that was disabled on the side of the highway. A man and a woman were occupants in the SUV.

They and the pickup driver all survived, but were taken to the hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were not known.

Deputies do not have a description of the other vehicle that was involved in the alleged street race.
