Man charged with nine sexual assaults of mentally challenged woman
CALCASIEU PARISH - From Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office
On November 25, 2013, Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office detectives received a report regarding the sexual assault of a 25 year old mentally handicapped girl.
The investigation revealed Vance G. Laughlin, Sr., 50, 700 Henning Drive, Apt. # 129, Sulphur, an acquaintance of the victim, had sexual intercourse with the victim on numerous occasions between February 1 and November 23, 2013.
After further investigation, Laughlin was arrested on February 18 and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with nine counts of aggravated rape.
Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $1,800,000.
