Man dies after running back into burning house for cell phone

KFDM News - A Plano man would still be alive, investigators say, if he hadn't run back into a burning house for his cell phone.

The 22-year-old man and three others woke up to heavy smoke and flames, and they all escaped the fire.

Then the 22-year-old and another person ran back in to grab their phones, but only one of them made it back out. Witnesses said they went back into the house to get their phones in order to call 911.

Firefighters say in 90 percent of cases when someone re-enters a burning building, they don't make it back out alive.
