30 years later: The death of BPD Officer Paul Hulsey Jr.

Thirty years later, the death of Beaumont Police Officer Paul Hulsey Junior is still fresh in the minds of those closest to him, including his then-wife and two of his fellow BPD officers.

Hulsey was shot by Michael Lee Lockhart, a serial killer who was later convicted of capital murder and executed for Officer Hulsey's killing.

Barbara Gallier, Hulsey's wife at the time, says one thing stuck out to her that night.

"I just remember the sea of just police officers, they were everywhere," says Gallier.

KFDM/Fox 4's Chris Mullooly reports how that fateful day unfolded, and how Hulsey's death brought a spotlight on patrol officer's safety.
