BPD raids game room where unlicensed guard with air soft gun was providing security

Beaumont Police, Homeland Security, Fire Marshals and Code Enforcement officers raided the Moon Game Room on Concord and seized about 40 eight liner machines and $9,400 cash from the business where they say a uniformed, unlicensed security guard with an air soft gun was employed.

Members of the Beaumont Special Services Division and Special Assignments Unit, with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigators, Fire Marshals and Code Enforcement Officers, executed a search warrant at about 7 p.m. Thursday at 3430 Concord, the Moon Game Room, to investigate Promotion of Gambling.

Investigators say when they walked inside, they discovered the employees were using a magnetic lock to keep people from freely coming in and out of the game room. A uniformed, unlicensed security guard with an air soft gun was found inside.

Approximately 30 people were identified inside the game room. Two arrests were made for outstanding warrants. The person operating the game room was identified as Hoang Cong Nguyen.

Approximately $9,400.00 in cash was seized from the business along with electronics from approximately 40 eight liner machines.

Beaumont Police Investigators, Fire Marshals and Code Enforcement filed numerous violations and notices on the game room as well. Additional charges are pending.
