BPD: Teens taken into custody, accused of about a dozen auto burglaries
Beaumont Police have arrested two teens accused of burglarizing up to a dozen vehicles.
Police responded to a report of two suspicious people at about 1:45 a..m. Friday in the 6000 block of Marcus. They were reportedly pulling on car door handles. One of the officers located the two teens in the area of Highway 105 and Old Dowlen Road.
Officers detained both men and say they were in possession of suspected stolen property. An investigation indicated the pair had attempted or committed upwards of ten auto burglaries in the surrounding neighborhoods.
One was identified as 17-year-old Devonta Stoker from Beaumont and the other is a 15 year old.
Stoker was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and charged with Failure to ID and Two Counts of Auto-Burglary ( additional charges pending).
The juvenile was transported to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Center.
