BPD say robbery at CVS was 'unique'

Beaumont Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the CVS at College and 11th streets.

Police say a man walked in to the CVS shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, jumped over the counter in the back of the store and stole drugs. He told employees he was armed but it's not clear what type of weapon he had.

Police say the robber is about 6-foot tall and was wearing a green shirt and basketball shorts.

BPD Sgt. Cody Guedry says what makes this crime unusual is that the robber went straight for the prescription drugs and not for any money.

The robber left in a white dually pickup.

If you have any information about the crime, call Southeast Texas Crime Stoppers at 833-TIPS.
