BREAKING: Woman whose body was found on Pleasure Island died of blunt force trauma to head
Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam III tells KFDM/Fox 4 a woman whose body was found Wednesday on Pleasure Island died of blunt force trauma to the head, and the manner of death is homicide, according to a preliminary autopsy report just released.
Gillam says the race is undetermined.
Investigators are working to determine her identity and age.
He says the body was badly decomposed and had been there for some time. He says it appears animals had gotten to the body.
A man driving with his daughter on Pleasure Island Wednesday afternoon noticed a sweater on the ground, and when he pulled up closer, he saw the woman's body and called 911.
