The Buna and Evadale Fire Departments were busy late Sunday evening battling a blaze at a convenience store. It was reported shortly before 11:00 at the FasTrac store, located at the corner of Highway 62 at Business Highway 96.
A Jasper County deputy was first on the scene and he reported windows broken out with flames and smoke coming out.
Buna firefighters arrived shortly thereafter and went to work on trying to douse the flames, and they called for assistance from Evadale firefighters shortly after 11:00.
It's unknown what caused the fire. KJAS News will followup on this story on Monday.
