The Coast Guard says the body of a woman has been found Tuesday morning that matches the description of a woman who disappeared in the waters off Crystal Beach after helping rescue her son who was struggling in the water.

Brandy Mosley, 33, disappeared in the waters Monday.

At 2 p.m., Galveston County Sheriff's Office dispatchers contacted Sector Houston watchstanders to report that Mosley had gone missing after swimming into the water to help her 4-year-old son who was having trouble swimming.

The child made it to shore, but Mosley was not seen again.

An Air Station Houston MH-65 Dolphin aircrew and Station Galveston boat crews were searching waters off Crystal Beach with Bolivar Police and the Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department.

At about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Galveston County Sheriff's Office received a call of a body found on the beach near Gulf Port Village subdivision in Crystal Beach. When deputies arrived they found the body at the water's edge. The location is about two miles way from where Mosley was last seen. A tattoo on the body matches the description of one Mosley had. The medical examiner will confirm the identity.
