Congressman Babin files bill to ban TikTok from college campuses

Texas — From U.S. Rep. Brian Babin - U.S. Congressman Brian Babin (TX-36) issued the following statement on his new bill, the Terminate TikTok on Campus Act (H.R. 231).

“For years, the Chinese Communist Party has been hard at work infiltrating our education system to spy, steal, and cheat to compete with us,” said Babin. “TikTok is nothing more than Beijing’s latest apparatus to aid them on their quest to supplant us as the world’s number one superpower. We cannot let them succeed.

“My bill will protect students and educators, and the work they do, from Communist China’s malfeasance by banning the app from institution-owned and institution-issued devices.”
