Death of a plant worker shocks community, friends and family
The industrial death of an Akrotex plant worker in Orange is under investigation. Isaiah Sias, 26, was confirmed dead last Thursday.
"A great human being, the world is a little worse without him here," Jacob Broussard, a close friend, told KFDM/Fox 4.
Sias was well-known throughout the community as a popular musician. His mother, Cherie Greene-Sias, called him a "creative genius" who taught himself how to play the guitar.
"It hurts, and I miss my baby," his mother said.
Those close to him say his creativity, his persona, were like a mix between legendary musician Jimi Hendrix and astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson.
"He was such a aspirational person, like always wanting more," Jay Salter, a close friend, said.
Aktrotex told KFDM/Fox 4 it can't comment due to the ongoing investigation into Sias' death.
The funeral for Sias has yet to be scheduled. A benefit in his name will take place at the Texas Rose Saloon in Orange on March 9.
