DEVELOPING: Statue on Confederate monument comes down

BEAUMONT — Workers have taken down the statue on the Confederate monument at Wiess Park in Beaumont.

The monument will be moved to an undisclosed location until council decides the next step.

Council voted 6-1 last week to take it down.
