DPS, ORSO working to learn what killed woman left injured on side of Hwy 12
ORANGE COUNTY —
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Orange County Sheriff's Office are working to learn what killed a woman found injured on the side of Highway 12 Saturday morning in Orange County.
On July 14, 2018, at approximately 7:15a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of an injured woman on the improved shoulder of Highway 12 in Orange County.
DPS Troopers responded to the area of Highway 12 and FM 1136. Troopers located the woman lying on the westbound shoulder of Highway 12. The woman sustained severe injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety positively identified the victim as Jessica Renea Talmadge, 29, of Buna. Talmadge was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital on Saturday; however, she did not survive her injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel earlier this morning.
DPS Troopers and the Criminal Investigations Division of the Orange County Sheriff's Office are working together to uncover evidence that will assist in finding out how and why Jessica Talmadge was left injured on the side of the road.
