Housing help available to Harvey victims in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY —
June 1 is the start of another hurricane season, but hundreds of residents in Orange County are still out of their homes due to Harvey.
Nine months ago, all the houses on Carter Road north of Vidor were underwater.
The water receded, but homeowners are still in FEMA or travel trailers.
A new allotment of federal dollars is expected to bring relief to Orange County Harvey victims.
On Thursday, they applied for the financial assistance at Vidor City Hall.
The money will pay for home repair or home rebuilding at no cost to the homeowners.
