Injury at Kountze homecoming parade

A man was injured Thursday after falling from a float at the Kountze homecoming parade, the police department there has confirmed to KFDM/Fox 4.

Kountze's parade was coming to an end in front of the intermediate school on Vaughn Street.

The man was supervising children on what's called a low boy type of float, then he was run over.

He suffered five broken ribs and was airlifted to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont for medical attention.

The man's wife tells KFDM/Fox 4 that he should be released from the hospital within a week.
