Man sentenced to 10 years in prison for misleading investors

A man who had been accused of stealing more than $200,000 from investors in Southeast Texas was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

William Curtis Jones was found guilty by a Jefferson County jury of misapplication of fiduciary property, which is a first-degree felony that can carry up to life in prison.

The indictment against Jones, who was the chief operating officer of Management Resources Group Inc., accused him of misappropriating more than $200,000 from investors.
