More than 200 Ft. Polk soldiers return from Iraq
Officials at Fort Polk say that 215 of their soldiers are now home following a nine month deployment to Iraq, according to our media partner KJAS.
Their presence was part of Operation Inherent Resolve and involved the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division.
According to Col. Brian Sullivan, the Fort Polk team was involved in the destruction of ISIS in both Iraq and in Syria.
64 other nations joined the United States in fighting ISIS. The terrorist organization has been declared totally wiped out in Iraq while a few remnants remain in Syria.
