Port Arthur man indicted for murder in deadly apartment shooting
The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted Walter Stevens Jones, 20, of Port Arthur, on a charge of murder in the March 16 shooting death of Joseph Boudreaux, 25, at Avery Trace Apartments in Port Arthur.
Boudreaux was shot several times at Avery Trace Apartments and first responders found him in the parking lot at about 12:30 p.m. Boudreaux later died from his injuries.
Police say two witnesses heard shots fired and saw a man with dreadlocks standing over Boudreaux. Polices say the witnesses identified the suspect as Jones.
A third witness saw the shooting and said a man with dreadlocks was the gunman.
A judge set Jones' bond at $1 million.
