JEFFERSON COUNTY — 18-year-old Sean Anthony Hester is charged with ten counts of child pornography.
64 videos were found in a Dropbox account, with victims ranging from infants to teens. All videos contained child pornography, bestiality, and/or physical abuse.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children got a tip from Dropbox, that child pornography was being downloaded, and launched an investigation to find the computer’s IP address linked to the Dropbox account. The local authorities, who specialize in Local Internet Crimes Against Children, were then notified. Those officers traced the Dropbox account to a computer’s IP address, found at Sean Hester’s house.
“Anywhere you can upload and share information, emails and things like that, are always running programs and algorithms in the background,” says prosecutor Kim Pipkin. “This is by far the worst child pornography I’ve ever seen. Not just for the ages of the children in here, which are described, but also the acts that are occurring.”
Hester’s bond was set at $150,000. He made bond, and is now waiting his trial date on April 8th.
