Red Cross giving $400 to qualifying households in three Southeast Texas cities

The American Red Cross is providing $400 in emergency assistance to households directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

A registration program in Port Arthur, Rose City and Pine Forest will be open through Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Port Arthur

Oct. 4, 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Over the next week, the Red Cross will transition into recovery, which means we will remain.

Severely impacted households that need immediate assistance can also apply at The American Red Cross relaunched its financial assistance program Thursday, Sept. 21.

As of Sept. 28, the Red Cross has authorized more than $148 million in direct financial assistance to help more than 370,000 Texas households. Those who have already applied but have not heard from the Red Cross within the 24-hour window do not need to reapply.

The Red Cross is still processing applications and officials say they will contact everyone who has applied as soon as possible.
