SE Texans have fun in the sun as temperature flirts in record territory

Summer is around the corner, and what better way to preview the SE TEXAS heat than with a heat wave.

Temperatures reached close to the mid-90's today closing in on record the record of 95 degrees set in 1902.

Many SE Texans said just because it's hot outside, doesn't mean you should stay inside. A day at the park, family picnics. even exercising outdoors.

Dr. Ali Ozman of Baptist Hospital says this time of the year, the number of patients admitted with heat related injuries will increase. Specifically those who work outside.

"We see people with heat cramps heat related ilnesses all the time so it is advisable," Ozman said. "If you have to work outside wear loose clothes drink plenty of fluid wear a hat anything to have the least amount of exposure to sun."
