DEVELOPING: Picture of Olivia Goodman, 37, facing charges of aggravated assault, child endangerment, possession of a firearm and controlled substance.
Beaumont Police took her into custody following the shooting of a man and a report of a woman barricaded inside an apartment with two children at Pointe North Apartments.
The woman turned out to not be inside when SWAT and BPD arrived. She was turning herself in at the Police Department.
A judge will set her bond Saturday morning in jail.
*An earlier version of the story included what investigators called a possible cause of the shooting as related to them by the suspect. Investigators say the criminal complaint doesn't include that in the paperwork.*
PREVIOUS REPORT: Beaumont police say the two children are now safely out of the apartment after a 39-year-old man was shot at the Pointe North Apartments and their 37-year-old mother is in custody after she was reportedly barricaded inside with the children.
Beaumont Police responded to the shooting at about 3:30 a.m. at Pointe North Apartments in the 3700 block of Magnolia.
They found a man outside an apartment with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police told KFDM/Fox 4 doctors were treating the man at CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth. He's in stable condition .
At 7 a.m., BPD said the two children, an 11-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were out of the apartment and a SWAT team was trying to determine if the woman was still inside.
Officers evacuated residents in surrounding apartments as a precaution while they tried to make contact with the woman.
Police sent in a robot at about 7:30 a.m. to determine if the woman was still in the apartment.
BPD has now confirmed the woman they were seeking at the Pointe North Apartment Complex is in custody. She is cooperating with police. The two children are now with CPS.
The woman's brother told our Quentin Hope she shot the man in self defense. The brother said he's been told the man tried to break in to his sister's apartment.
