Three people injured in Beaumont crash including a toddler

UPDATE: Police say the child was 3-years-old and would soon turn age 4.

BREAKING UPDATE: A four year old boy has died at CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth following a collision in Beaumont in which a driver ran a stop sign and struck the SUV, carrying the child and four family members, according to information Officer Haley Morrow provided to KFDM News.

Morrow says a two-year-old in the SUV was taken to a Houston hospital where the toddler is in critical but stable condition.

Morrow says two other juveniles in the SUV sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Nissan SUV and the driver of a Buick that struck it are both unhurt.

Morrow says witnesses confirm the driver of the Buick ran a stop sign while traveling east on Avenue E and struck the SUV heading west on Franklin.

First responders are on the scene of a major accident in Beaumont's Avenues neighborhood.

That crash happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday near Franklin Street and Avenue E.

Beaumont Fire-Rescue dispatch tells us a toddler is being rushed to CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth as a trauma alert patient after a car and SUV collided in front of Central City Church.

Two other adults are also being transported with serious injuries.
