A Little Rock man who was shot in the genitals Wednesday drove about 150 miles to a hospital in a neighboring state for treatment, police reported.

Staffers at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock told police that the 27-year-old man arrived at the hospital about 12:25 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his scrotum, according to a police report. The man left before he could be examined or treated.

A nurse reportedly told police that the man had driven to Greeneville, Miss., and checked himself into a hospital for treatment.

The shooting happened in the area of North Chicot Road and Mabelvale Cutoff Road, according to the report. A witness told police that someone in a gray Lincoln had opened fire on a white Cadillac. The vehicles then drove away.

Police said they found several shell casings at the intersection of Chicot Road and Morris Drive.
