NOTES FROM THE OUTDOORS
In the summer, many anglers like to “run and gun” for tripletail. Tripletails often hover under buoys, crab trap floats, driftwood, weed patches and other objects. Some people even anchor their own tripletail attractors in their favorite fishing spots. Anglers targeting tripletail run near buoy lines or look for other floating objects watching for the fish hanging below the cover. Some people like to fly cast to individual fish. Others hook a live shrimp or crab on a bobber rig and let the currents carry the bait toward the object, hoping a nearby tripletail will find it resistibly enticing.
