On Sunday, February 10, 2019, look for the best activity levels at first and last light. An early Good period lasts from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. The dawn peak hits at 5:40 a.m. A major later Good period occurs from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., peaking at 5:40 p.m. near the edge of the Excellent level.
NOTES FROM THE OUTDOORS
Not all deer rut at the same time. Even with the same state or area, the rut might last over several weeks. In some states, the whitetail rut extends into February. The rut begins when does come into “season” so bucks can breed them. Not every doe comes into season at the same time and some does might not be bred during that time so they come into season again about four weeks later.
