Sydney Ferguson

I was born in Houston but raised in Austin and Dallas. I am proud to have always called Texas home and Southeast Texas is already growing on me.

I started at KFDM in February of 2023. Before this, I spent 4 months as an intern at KPRC 2 in Houston where I had the honor of producing our intern newscast. Though these are my first two experiences working professionally in my field, I’ve done work for school newspapers since I was a sophomore in high school.

The same semester that my internship ended I graduated with honors with a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Sam Houston State University.

Writing is my passion, but I also love painting, singing or music in general. I am an avid reader, a poet, and a storyteller, always looking to learn something new or have my next great conversation. I am passionate about the stories I tell and the people behind them.

It’s no small thing to trust someone to convey something on your behalf or to bring you the truth. I’m grateful to the people in Southeast Texas who have already trusted me to do both.

I’m loving Beaumont so far and am excited to call this city my new home!
