CHAMBERS COUNTY -- Water rescues are being conducted in Winnie and Hanacker, Chambers County Fire Marshal's reported Monday morning.
County officials there say the water rescues are not widespread.
Here is more from the fire marshal:
Right now 107 people being sheltered from various areas of county. We are continuing efforts to rescue and shelter as needed. Some locations which were previously designated as shelters are not being used because of concerns about roadway access or flooding impact. Also the county is short on personnel to staff multiple shelters, as they are having to run the shelters themselves.
The weather is expected to continue with heavy rainfall through Tuesday and Wednesday.
That area saw 5-6 inches of rain Monday morning and much more since Hurricane Harvey made landfall Friday night.
