Salvation Army in Beaumont opens up storm shelter

    The Salvation Army in Beaumont is opening up their emergency shelter to house Southeast Texas residents displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

    The shelter has 147 beds, and currently, there are 110 beds available.

    The Salvation Army is working with the Jefferson County Office of Emergency Management, the Beaumont Police Department, and the Southeast Texas Food Bank to ensure that the emergency shelter is serving the needs of local residents.
